As part of a complex process of transitioning BC Women’s Hospital Health Records platform from paper to a computerized modality, BCWH will be undertaking this work from February 26 to March 31st, 2022.

It is expected that the hospital’s capacity to provide care for registered patients will be affected by this endeavour.  An estimate of 20% reduction in volume of patient care will be required during this time. As a result, it is possible that patients may be diverted to another hospital for care or delivery during this phase.

There are a multitude of benefits for transitioning to a computerized medical record system now and certainly for the quality of care in the future.

The hospital respectfully requests the patience and cooperation of patients during their delivery and care journey at BCWH during this time and the hospital will ensure the best care available is provided to all.
